Baby Edward – A Blessing

Omwana (Ugandan for “baby”) House welcomed its newest addition in February 2018. His name is Edward.

Edward was named by a local pastor because his mom passed away during childbirth, leaving him orphaned and without care.

Precious Eddie was also given the name Mukisa by the Omwana House staff — it means “Blessing”. Baby Eddie is a true blessing to all who know and love him.

The Omwana House exists to save the lives of innocent babies, provide a loving and nurturing home, model and teach that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. All children at the Omwana House receive the blessing of attending a PCM school when they reach school age.

On my first trip to Uganda, spending time at the Omwana House was my favorite part. I love babies, and these beautiful children living in this peaceful place gave me such joy. Shortly before my second trip, I heard about Edward, whose mother had died while giving birth to him and who had recently moved to Omwana. I heard that he wasn’t yet sponsored, and my family and I started praying, asking God whether we should sponsor him. When I met him in Uganda and got to hold him, I knew he had to be part of our family. This adorable little guy is now my family’s sponsored child, and we can’t wait to watch him grow.
