Meet the Ministry Staff
We Love Africa!
Ever wondered what it would be like to have the best job in the world? The staff of PCM USA has the privilege of being on the front lines of not only spreading the word about what God’s doing in Africa but building deep relationships with our Ugandan family. We communicate daily with members of the Ugandan staff like Pastor Emmy, John Bosco, Mellon, and Emmy D. They are amazing people and we have the opportunity to be a voice for them!
Our staff offices are in Tyler, TX where PCM USA was founded. We are made up of people who are passionate about loving Jesus and bringing other people along for the journey. However, PCM is so much bigger than just our staff. Our PCM family is made up of hundreds of people from several different states who are using their talents to help us Proclaim, Comfort, and Multiply. We could not be the ministry that God has called us to be without the talent, encouragement, and passion of our extended PCM family!
Monica “Kiconco” Barret
Do you like to pray for PCM? Do you want to share a praise about PCM? Ask or tell Kiconco. Kiconco’s willingness to obey the Lord and take a trip to Africa birthed a beautiful relationship between two families oceans apart. Because of this obedience, so many of you are able to join alongside what God is doing through PCM! She is the mother of two talented daughters, a gifted artist and has a passion to lift high the name of Jesus in America, Uganda and beyond!
Mark “Epa” Barret, MD
A beloved pediatrician in East Texas, Epa’s passion for the people of Uganda is unmatched. He is a visionary, connector of people and desires for God to be glorified in all that is done through PCM. Between seeing patients, spending time with his wife and two daughters, Epa and his “twin brother” Pastor Emmy pursue new ways to proclaim, comfort and multiply across East Africa.
Justin “Deuce” Hayes
Director of Ministries
Justin’s first day was April 5, 2010 and he left for his first trip to Uganda on April 7! Even though he had traveled to many countries before that, he said after that trip that he had never been anywhere like Uganda. He knew God had given him a second home and family. When Justin isn’t working, he’s spending time with his wife, Christie, and their children. He has a heart for orphaned and needy children all over the world, both in Uganda and here at home. He is an adoptive and foster father and takes seriously his calling to be an advocate for the fatherless.
Director of Finance
Missy’s heart has always been in non-profit work so when dear friends mentioned an opening at PCM in 2014, Missy was excited about what God had in store. God gifted her with the ability to understand numbers and her position at PCM has allowed her to join her talent and passion together! Missy is affectionately known as “beanie” around the office because she’s always looking for ways to make sure that we are doing the most with the resources God has given us!
Head Sponsorship Coordinator
Lori joined the PCM team as the Sanga Sponsorship Coordinator shortly after her first trip to Uganda in 2011. After serving in this roll for one year, she was asked to be the Child Sponsorship Coordinator overseeing each of the school coordinators and developing areas of the sponsorship program. She is a master at details and planning which makes her a natural at coordinating housing for our choir members as well as other aspects of their schedule.
Northern Regional Representative
Kathryn went on her first trip to Uganda in 2011. After showing up at the office every day following her second trip in 2012 with her husband Luke, her volunteer role turned in to a part time position that has evolved over time. Kathryn loves Jesus, capturing moments in time with her camera, and has a passion to show others what God is doing in and through the people of Uganda because it has forever changed the way her family views the world! She is based in West Michigan.
Mbarara Sponsorship Coordinator
Christie became the first official PCM USA employee in 2009! She is married to PCM’s Director of Ministry Operations, Justin. After proving her skills with a spreadsheet and giving the sponsorship program a jumpstart, she took a hiatus in 2012 as their family expanded with the addition of two children by adoption. She is now back on staff, loving Mbarara school sponsorship and managing their family of 7! Christie has a passion for loving children in Uganda as well as at home. She loves to visit her kids in Uganda as well as volunteer as a CASA for foster children.
Trip and Event Coordinator
Living in East Texas all of her life, Heather dreamt and talked of missions around the world as a little girl. Her passion is for praying, loving on babies and telling others about the faithfulness and love of the Lord. Before coming on staff at PCM she was teaching kindergarten at Grace Community School. Her first trip with PCM to Uganda was with her husband Wayne in 2014. Soon after, she came on staff to help develop PCM’s first baby house. Heather now enjoys returning to Uganda with PCM teams and witnessing the grace and goodness of the Lord.
Morgan had a heart for Africa from a young age. A Syracuse, New York native, she and her husband Joe moved to Texas trusting that God was up to something in their lives. Finding her place at PCM has given her a chance to be a part of something that God has given her a passion for- proclaiming the Good news in Africa! If you call the PCM office, Morgan will most likely answer and you will be blessed to interact with her!
